10th Annual Graduate Student Symposium

On July 13th, the Graduate Student Association of the laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) of Cambridge together with the YR2I association organized a joint symposium, that took place at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK.

This congress gave the attendants the opportunity to participate to an event with high quality scientific content and to social events organized for them.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Imagine Institute, and to financial support from YR2I, only 50€ were asked to each participant to cover the travel expenses, accommodation expenses, as well as part of the expenses related to social activities. The congress lasted two days, and participants were housed in students room in the Trinity College, at the heart of one of the most ancient and prestigious university cities in the world. The trip ended with a gala dinner in the dining hall of Peterhouse College.

The program of this congress comprised keynote lecture, from international and high-level researchers, post-doc talks and industry researchers. Were also planned a session of PhD talks, a “carreer session”, a roundtable where participants can interact with professionals pursuing a scientific non-academic career, and poster sessions.

Of course, PhD student talks and poster sessions were evaluated for prizes, and we are happy that a member of Imagine Institute won the poster prize.
